It is the inaugural meeting for the Monday Evening Book Club! And what is the first book to be discussed? Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre!!!Jane is an intelligent and kind orphan in an often cruel and indifferent world. Her dedication to advancing herself in society leads her to work as a governess for a mysterious man, Mr. Rochester. As soon as she thinks she might be able to find happiness and a place to belong, however, fate deals yet another harsh blow.
Read this classic tale of an orphan struggling to get by in the 19th century, and come discuss it at the library! Coffee will be served starting at 6:00 PM, and the formal discussion begins at 6:30 PM. Copies of the book are available at the library front desk.
